Webinar: The Art of Democratic Politics and the Challenges of Globalization

Fundação FHC held series of events about Fernando Henrique Cardoso's legacy, who is also a Member of Club de Madrid. Activities addressed democracy, development and society: topics that have marked the intellectual and political lives of FHC. Club de Madrid collaborated in the third seminar titled 'The Art of Democratic Politics and the Challenges of Globalization' to be held on 8 July 2021. 

Club de Marid collaborates in the debate 'The Art of Democratic Politics and the Challenges of Globalization' organised by the Fundaçao FHC with the participation of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, former President of Brazil; Julio María Sanguinetti, former President of Uruguay; Ricardo Lagos, former President of Chile; and Enrique Iglesias, former President of the Inter-American Development Bank and former Secretary General of the IberoAmerican General Secretariat (SEGIB). All of them are Members of Club de Madrid. Our Secretary General, María Elena Agüero moderated the discussion, which was held on 8 July 2021 at 16:00 CET.

The Fernando Henrique Cardoso Foundation is organising a series of debates highlighting the trajectory and legacy of former President of Brazil Fernando Henrique Cardoso, who turned 90 years old on June 18th. The debates touch upon the future of democracy in Brazil and around the world, the role of intellectuals in politics, and social inequality, among other topics.
