Barack Obama’s recent visit to Northern Ireland was his first as a President of the United States where he was going to take part in a G8 summit. An audience of 1.500 students and 500 other invitees gathered at the Belfast landmark Waterfront Hall to hear the most powerful man in the world but what they found was a shy teenage girl of 16 years old named Hannah Nelson delivering a wonderful and passionate speech that started with a straight forward question: How do you make peace permanent in Northern Ireland?
Facing politicians and dignitaries in the gallery, including First and Deputy First Ministers Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness, she assuredly told them a new Northern Ireland was possible. People needed to overcome the past, and deal with their differences.
Check out here how Hannah delivered her polished speech full of shared societies concepts and commitments
