The Club of Madrid, at the UN Alliance of Civilizations' III Global Forum in Rio de Janeiro

May 22, 2010

The organization, following the engagement with the Alliance, has organized a thematic session on Employment and Poverty Reduction in Times of Crisis. Leadership Action for Shared Societies: Bridging Cultures, Parity of Esteem and Economic Well-being as part of the Alliance's Third Forum in Rio de Janeiro. The sesson will feature Members John Kufuor (Ghana), Kjell Magne Bondevik (Norway), and the Ombudswoman of Peru Dr. Merino amongst others.

Even if a nation can achieve economic growth and create opportunities for education, training and employment, many people will not be able to take advantage because they are marginalised and disadvantaged.
