His Majesty the King of Spain, to inaugurate the Policy Dialogue Madrid+10 on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism

HM the King of Spain will be accompanied in the inaugural session by (in order): the President of the Club de Madrid and former President of Latvia, Vaira Vike-Freiberga; the Mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, and the Minister of Interior of Spain, Jorge Fernández Díaz. The Policy Dialogue will be organized by the Club de Madrid and the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence (ICSR) at King’s College London with the European Commission, the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID), the US State Department and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as main partners

Promoting Democracy Promotes Peace

The Club de Madrid congratulates Tunisia, the National Dialogue Quarter, and also all Tunisian citizens, as the symbolic recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize awarded today. The successful adoption of the new Tunisian Constitution, the peaceful elections and the country’s efforts to build an inclusive future through democracy, the rule of law and respect for human and civil rights through dialogue is a beacon of hope for the MENA region but also for the world as a whole. The Nobel Peace Prize is a well deserved recognition of it.
