Commercial Counselor at the Embassy of Brazil in Spain

Education:

Tarcísio Costa graduated from the Rio Branco Institute (Brazilian Diplomatic Academy), received his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Political Theory from Cambridge University and undertook post-doctoral studies on history of political ideas at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of São Paulo. 

Professional experience:

Costa was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, a senior researcher at the University of Brasília and a professor at the Rio Branco Institute.

As a diplomat, Costa served at the United Nations Division of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, at the Brazilian Embassy in London and as Deputy Consul of Brazil in San Francisco. He was Executive Secretary of the National Commission in charge of the celebrations of the Fifth Centennial of Brazil.

Tarcísio Costa served as a diplomatic advisor to the Office of the President of Brazil during Mr Cardoso’s second term. He is currently a Commercial Counselor at the Embassy of Brazil in Spain.
