Clinton and Lagumdzija join forces again for Shared Societies

A panel dedicated to Reconciliation and Shared Societies was held during the 2016 Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting, in which PM of Serbia ALexander Vucic and the major of Srebrenica Camil Durakovic were the participants. Zlatko Lagumdzija, former PM of Bosnia and Herzegovina and CdM member, attended the session. A survivor of the Srebrenica massacre, Advija Ibrahimovic, was also present.

The 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, met a delegation of fellow Club of Madrid member Presidents and Prime Ministers on the margins of their board meeting in March 2015. 

Ten Club de Madrid leaders join the Global Education & Skills Forum

The President and the Vicepresidents of the Club de Madrid, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, Jennifer Mary Shipley and Jorge Quiroga respectively, will lead a ten Members delegation to Dubai to join the education-focused GESF meeting that will be held in Dubai the 15th-16th of march.

Club de Madrid presents Bill Clinton with its Democratic Leadership Award

Last November 9th, at the Club de Madrid Gala Dinner sponsored by Telefónica, President Bill Clinton was given the organization’s Democratic Leadership Award. The gala celebrated the Club de Madrid’s tenth anniversary, and took place in New York City. The award recognizes a leader’s commitment to the consolidation of democratic values, human rights and good governance, and the promotion of sustainable, socio-economic development through democratic means, all of which represent the core values of the Club de Madrid.

 Two of our Members, Bill Clinton and Felipe González met with Tony Blair and other progressive leaders in New York to launch the Global Progress Council

The meeting, held in New York on December 13th & 14th, had also the participation of other renowned progressive figures like Helle Thorning-Schmidt (Denmark), Carme Chacón (Spain), Matthias Machning (Germany), Mona Salin (Sweden), Poul Nyrup Rasmussen (Denmark), Gordon Bajnai (Hungary) and Trevor Manuel (South Africa) among others.

Bill Clinton: "The people of Haiti are genuinely committed to reimagining their future, but realizing that future will require public-private partnerships and a sustained commitment".

President Clinton called or public-private partnerships and sustained commitment to Haiti’s future. Clinton addressed the Club de Madrid members adn experts participating in the special session on Reconstruction and Democratic Development: The Case of Haiti where Haitian State Minister Delatour was keynote speaker. The session followed the Club de Madrid's IX General Assembly
