Seminar “The Route to Mexico: Challenges and opportunities for a global agreement”

Member Robinson will speak at the Seminar “The Route to Mexico: Challenges and opportunities for a global agreement”, in Cancun. The objective of the meeting is to explore climate related opportunities and challenges for the Americas vis a vis upcoming COP 16 to be held in Mexico City at the end of 2010. The Seminar will take place in the framework of the Fifty-first Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank and the Twenty-fifth Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Investment Corporation. Other participants to the event will be Mr. Rajendra K. Pachauri. Director General of TERI and Chairman of the IPCC and Mr. José Mario Molina-Pasquel Henríquez, 1995 recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his role in elucidating the threat to the Earth's ozone layer of chlorofluorocarbon gases (or CFCs).

Climate Change Panel at the Brussels Forum

Gro Harlem Brundtland will speak at the Climate Change Panel of the Brussels Forum, an annual high-level meeting of the most influential North American and European political, corporate, and intellectual leaders to address pressing challenges currently facing both sides of the Atlantic. C.S. Kiang (Chair, Sustainable Development Technology Foundation) and Connie Hedegaard (EU Commissioner for Climate Action) will also participate at the Panel. XXIV Board of Directors

The XXIV Board of Directors of the Club of Madrid will be held in Pamplona (Spain) on April 20-21 with the support of the Regional Government of Navarra. The major decision to be taken during the meeting will be the election of a new Secretary General for the organization, who shall be joining the Secretariat in May.
