Club de Madrid High Level Trust Building Mission to Libya

Club de Madrid High Level Trust Building Mission to Libya

Club de Madrid, Wim Kok, Carlos Westendorp, and Mustafa AbdelJalilThis first high level mission to Libya is preceded by a preparatory mission that took place last week, and should be followed by a second high level mission to Libya in September once the elections are passed and a new Parliament constituted.

These missions are framed in the EU funded project Political Leadership for Democratic Transitions in the Mena Region - Initial Trust Building Missions to Lybia, Tunisia and Jordan. The missions to Tunisia will be taking place in July, and the missions to Jordan in September. With these actions, the Club de Madrid contributes to the consolidation of democracies in the mentioned countries and in different areas of interest, as well as builds trust among the political actors in these countries, as an independent actor in the region.
