Changes in the Arab World: Revolutions towards Democracy?

The Board of Directors of the Club de Madrid held its XXVII meeting last Wednesday 6 April in Madrid, Spain.

Among other issues, members discussed the organization of our 2011 General Assembly and Annual Conference (November 7-8) and possible Club de Madrid project activity in the Middle East and North Africa. In parallel to the Board of Directors meeting, an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly was organized to ratify a series of financial documents as well as the membership of Oscar Arias (President of Costa Rica, 1986-1990 and 2006-2010) and Alfred Gusenbauer (Federal Chancellor of Austria, 2007-2008) who thereby become the 80th and 81st members of the organization.

The next meeting of the Board is scheduled for July 6.
