Vicente Fox

Vicente Fox began his political career, during the 1980's by joining the Partido Acción Nacional and was elected Federal Congressmen in 1988. In 1995, he was elected governor of Guanajuato. He was one of the first state governors to give a clear, public and timely account of the finances of Guanajuato state and of his personal patrimony. He was Mexico’s President from 2000 to 2006. He is currently Co-President of the Centrist Democrat International and President of Centro Fox, a space dedicated to promote leadership in all of us. In 2009 he received the Honoris Causa from Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles) for his democratic and humanitarian work; a recognition of “Global Innovation”, from the Goizueta Business School (Atlanta) for his leadership and promotion of democracy; and an Honoris Causa from Emory University (Atlanta) for his international leadership on issues of democracy and entrepreneurial initiatives. He has played a vital role in the democratization of Mexico and in strengthening the economy.
